I just play along and if the take was good then I press the key and the Region is there. I do 99% of my MIDI recording with the "Capture as Recording" command. If you want to record to an existing MIDI Region and want to have the Piano Roll or the Score window open so you can read along then you better have that preference deselected. All the notes in the "Region 2" will play now with the wrong CC74=127 value until bar18. If you stop at bar20 and jump to bar9, then the CC74 will not update to CC74=90. "Region 2" lasts from bar 10-20 and has a CC74=127 value at bar18. "Region 1" lasts from bar 1-5 and has the CC74=90 value at bar 4. Logic chases MIDI data only from the the beginning of the current Region and not the beginning of the Song. After each bounce I have to go into the FInder and manually edit the file name if I need to include title, version, date, stems, etc that requires more characters. After 8 years of the introduction of OSX that supports long file names, Logic's code is still stuck in OS9 with the 32 or even less characters limitation.
